Results From the Plain St. Luke's Tournament in Plain, Wisconsin
June 10, 2007

In the U-4 bracket Sauk Prairie went 3-0 to win for the second year in a row. Wisconsin Heights was second at 2-1, with Poynette third at 1-2 and the River Valley team of 12 year olds getting some valuable playing time against older teams at 0-3.

In the U-8 bracket, Sun Prairie used the arm and bat of future Wisconsin Badger walk-on Dana Rassmussen to win the tourney at 3-0 followed by River Valley (which lost to SunPprairie by a 5-1 score) at 2-1, Wisconsin Heights at 1-2, and Dodgeville ( with coach Gene Van Dyke says is in a reloading year) at 0-3.

It was great softball, a great tourney, with great weather and great time had by all. We're already looking forward to next year.

The U16 Wisconsin Bandits won the USFA U18 B National Tournament in Panama City, FL.

They went 9-0 beating the following teams:

In the championship game, Jessica Steele threw a no-hitter and was two walks away from a perfect game.

The head coaches from Mississippi and LSU watched 3 of our games and were very interested in 3-4 of our players. I thought you would like to know that some D-1 programs think Wisconsin girls can play. It seems that UW is the one D-1 school that thinks Wisconsin girls aren't D-1 caliber.
